About
Our volunteer program supports our hospice and palliative care patients in a wide range of volunteer roles. Our volunteers play a vital role in providing excellence in care for our end-of-life patients and their loved ones.
Our program is very flexible as our volunteers choose where and when they would like to serve and what volunteer services they would like to provide. We offer volunteers over 20 different volunteer roles that they can consider when determining how they would like to support our patients and families, including: friendly visiting, caregiver relief, singer/instrumentalist, visiting therapy pet, light housekeeping, cosmetology (provide haircuts), my life story project coordinator, photography etc.
Volunteers may serve in multiple volunteer roles or choose to focus on one particular role.
We serve patients in 13 counties throughout West Michigan. Most volunteers choose to serve patients and families close to where they live and/or work.
We offer volunteers a comprehensive application and training program with ongoing support including in-services, newsletters, and opportunities to engage with other volunteers and our care team staff.
