Hospice & Palliative Care Volunteer - Teddy Bear Creators - Sewers, Knitters, and Crocheters

Listed by Corewell Health Hospice & Palliative Care West Michigan - Volunteer Services

About

Corewell Health Hospice and Palliative Care West Michigan is honored to serve end-of-life patients and their loved ones thru West Michigan.  We provide physical, emotional, and spiritual support to our patients as paid staff and our robust volunteer program.  We seek additional volunteers who desire to impact their communities by serving our patients in unique and meaningful ways.

We are looking for additional Teddy Bear volunteers who would like to sew Bereavement Bears (teddy bears created out of a patient’s clothing as a memory item for their loved ones).  Our Caring Crafter program only requires a completed application.  We provide instructions, materials, examples and experienced Bereavement Bear sewing mentors, if desired.  We also welcome knitters and crocheters to create cozy lap blankets, quilts, activity mats/twiddle muffs, knitted socks, and other items.

We will work with you to help you join our volunteer program and start supporting patients and families in your West Michigan community!

Contact us to receive more information and application instructions.  Call us at (616)391-4240 or email us at: hospice.volunteers@corewellhealth.org
