About
This volunteer project is for individuals only (not groups).
Interested in volunteering for a few hours every week? Is organization your super power? Do you enjoy meeting new people? Lend a hand with Family Promise's donation intake operations!
Beginning in Spring 2026, Family Promise will accept donation drop-offs at our office on Tuesdays from 10am-2pm. We are looking for 1-2 lead volunteers to take ownership of these drop-offs. The Donation Intake Lead volunteers will welcome visitors who are dropping off donations, accept, sort, and inventory donations, and collaborate with the Volunteer & Community Engagement Manager and Operations team to ensure intake is running smoothly. These volunteers will be the first point of contact for many visitors and will act as enthusiastic and hospitable ambassadors for Family Promise, ensuring visitors have a positive experience and are eager to engage again in the future.
To ensure consistency and the best experience for volunteers and visitors, we ask that Donation Intake Lead volunteers:
- Commit to a weekly volunteer schedule for at least 6 months beginning in early April. Current shifts are:
- Tuesdays: 9:30am-2:30pm (full shift) | 9:30am-12:30pm | 11:30am-2:30pm
- Once you've "registered", we will reach out to chat more and coordinate a visit and orientation. If, after orientation, this still feels like a good fit, we will get you scheduled on our volunteer calendar beginning in early April.

- Are comfortable working independently, with little supervision
- Are comfortable occasionally lifting/moving heavy boxes
- Are at least 16 years old
