Children's Grief Support Group Facilitation

Ele's Place provides peer support groups for children ages three through high school and their families who are grieving the death of a family member or close friend. These groups take place on weekday evenings.

Support group facilitator: Facilitators work in teams of three to four volunteer facilitators per group of 10-12 children or teens.
Requirements for becoming a Support Group Facilitator:

• At least 18 years of age + graduated high school
• No mental health training or experience required
• Must be able to commit to volunteering one weekday evening (5:30-8:30 pm, approximately) per week
• Must be able to commit to this position for a school year (September-May, with the exception of breaks and holidays)
• Must complete our facilitator training (Three sessions taking place on August 3rd & 6th from 5:30-9pm on Zoom and Saturday, August 8th 9am-1pm in person at the Ele's Place West Michigan office.) 
• Must complete online training modules before training sessions. 
• We are able to sign off on volunteer hours needed for university coursework and LLMSW licensure hours.
